Molded from soft clay by experienced hands and pulled from the kiln still aglow with heat, a humble tea bowl is born. Distinguished by its asymmetrical shape and unique texture, the subtle beauty and grace of traditional Japanese tea ceremony is encapsulated in raku ware, a paragon of the wabi-sabi aesthetic favored throughout history by great lords and modest tea masters alike.
CHOJIRO is named to honor the founder of the raku pottery tradition, a style of ceramics developed alongside the art of tea ceremony for hundreds of years. Reminiscent of a handcrafted tea bowl, the CHOJIRO ring band has a slightly irregular line and textured appearance. As with the atmosphere of a quiet, reflective tea gathering, CHOJIRO embodies the hope for a marriage filled with peaceful, heartfelt moments.
